In the silence of the matrix white, the line becomes writing and color becomes vibration. Alessandra Viotti-Gilabert explores the frontiers of the invisible through thematic cycles where symbolic abstraction reveals the profound poetry of the living.
The artist uses the prestigious Fabriano 350g paper, a handmade cotton paper. This museum-quality paper, hand-brushed, fringed and watermarked, guarantees, thanks to its acid-free composition, vibrant colors and exceptional longevity.
Pictorial Series Points de Vue
The Points de Vue series is a cycle of introspection where the female face becomes the geometric location of pure thought. The title plays on a double meaning: a gaze turned upon the inner world, and the vantage point from which perception emerges. Moving away from a simple figuration of the introspection of closed eyes, this cycle explores the fundamental tension between the visible and the invisible gaze. In certain works, the gaze is introspective, partial, veiled by geometric patterns or infinitesimal tracings, forcing the viewer to seek out perception. In others, it is totally masked by chromatic bursts or weaves of lines, suggesting a loss of self in emotion or thought. It is a masterful fusion of mental topography and pure feeling, where the matrix white of the paper acts as the sovereign space of possibilities.

Pictorial Series Pop Poésie
Audacity and rhythm converge in this series where geometry is introduced to evoke a joyful, emancipating, and resolutely contemporary energy. The artist plays with the hypnotic accumulation of spheres and ovals to celebrate absolute freedom. Here, lyrical abstraction hybridizes with an unapologetic “pop” visual force, proving Alessandra Viotti-Gilabert’s ability to formally renew herself while sublimating her fundamental aesthetic grammar: the tension of the black line, the perfection of the flat color, and the masterful integration of the void.

Pictorial Series Acqua Viva
Dedicated to fluids and elevation, this cycle is dominated by the depth of blues and the astral light of golden pigments. Woman appears here as a serene divinity, intimately connected to primal forces. The shapes, resembling aquatic cells, are adorned with metallic stippling whose vibration beautifully contrasts with the tranquility of the closed-eyelid faces. By exploring the themes of water and memory, the female face becomes the receptacle of a vast and silent inner landscape.

Pictorial Series Anni Ruggenti
A true homage to effervescence and freedom of movement, this cycle literally deconstructs the female profile in a dizzying cascade of pictorial confetti and frenetic curves. The rhythm accelerates, the line emancipates itself, and the composition becomes the theater of a visual jubilation where the rigor of the stroke frames the spontaneity of the color.

Pictorial Series Amazonie
A vibrant chromatic explosion dedicated to biodiversity. Deep greens, brilliant fuchsias, and fiery reds take possession of the space here. The black line comes alive, coils, and becomes a root or a vine to entwine the portrait. In this carnal cycle, organic forms blossom like an oneiric flora, celebrating the vital energy and the elusive power of nature.

Pictorial Series Ad Astra
This cycle invites a dizzying elevation toward the universe and cosmic memory. The female face becomes the silent receptacle of infinity. The central artwork of this series, Sirio (named after the brightest star), spectacularly illustrates this spiritual ascension: the floating forms are constellated with gold and silver pigments, literally capturing and reflecting the ambient light to make the artwork a celestial body in itself.

Pictorial Series Délicatesse
The Délicatesse series marks a sovereign point of equilibrium in Alessandra Viotti-Gilabert’s research. It is the cycle of ultimate refinement, where the tension of the black line fades in favor of an arachnean, almost immaterial softness. The artist distills her visual language to its purest essence, creating spaces of silence and profound contemplation. The artwork Quiétude is a perfect incarnation of this quest. The female face, captured in a profile of remarkable figurative purity, rests with closed eyelids. The work is built upon a weaving of infinitesimal lines that materialize a light head of hair, like a breath of thought. Symbolic abstraction masterfully intervenes through three refined color fields: a flamboyant red circle, a vibrant orange one, and a final deep black one. Perfect flat tints that seamlessly integrate into the matrix white of the Fabriano paper. Small seeds of life, symbolized by diffuse black dots, spread throughout the composition, adding an organic vibration. Quiétude is not a representation; it is the revelation of a suspended moment, of a pacified interiority, where the void becomes the sovereign realm of a delicate harmony.
